Current models include students accelerating in a single subject, for example a Year 11 student sitting the HSC ahead of time in French or Visual Arts. In special cases where a student is gifted across all key learning areas and have demonstrated social maturity, a student can be accelerated up a whole year level.
This is used when a whole class is accelerated in a particular subject. This is used when a group of students in a grade demonstrate the capacity to excel through curriculum compacting in a single subject. Examples of this include a class of Year 11 Maths students sitting the HSC Examination for 2 Unit Mathematics a year ahead of their other subjects.
