Senior School Personal Development, Health & Physical Education (PDHPE)
PDHPE in the senior school includes one Health and two Physical Education lessons each week for students in Years 7-10. Students' motivation to be physically active is influenced by their level of enjoyment, perceived competence and social support.
At Pittwater House we participate in a variety of sports including Swimming, Netball, Lacrosse, European Handball, Ultimate Frisbee, Austag, Athletics, Rugby, Basketball, Soccer, AFL, Cricket, Softball, Tennis, Cross Country, Dance, Water Polo, Fitness Testing and Gymnastics, all of which occur in a variety of challenging contexts. Surf education continues to be a focal point of our junior programs, with senior classes completing their Apply First Aid qualifications through a course run by NSW Surf Life Saving.
These sports and activities appeal to the students' needs and interests and ultimately increase their likelihood of lifelong physical activity.
