We are delighted to welcome Mrs Ainslie Breckenridge as the new Head of Junior School at Pittwater House.

With nearly thirty years of experience in education at schools including Redlands and Barker, Mrs Breckenridge brings with her a passion for whole-child development, a deep understanding of student wellbeing, and a commitment to fostering strong partnerships with families and staff.

A North Shore local, she joins our community at an exciting time and is already making a positive impression on students, staff and parents alike.

“It’s a joy to be part of such a vibrant and caring school,” Mrs Breckenridge says. “What struck me immediately was the genuine warmth of the community, and the way the HEROIC values are more than just words on a wall – they’re lived every day by staff and students.”

Mrs Breckenridge is particularly energised by the unique structure at Pittwater House, where academic rigour sits alongside strong pastoral care. “Children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and truly known by their teachers. That’s when they feel confident enough to take risks, explore new ideas and grow into capable, curious learners,” she says.

Her vision for the Junior School is to continue building on the strong foundations already in place. “My goal is for every student, from Pre-Kindy to Year 6, to feel empowered to step outside their comfort zone, embrace challenge and discover who they are as learners and as people. By the time they transition to Senior School, I want them to do so as confident, happy and well-prepared young individuals.”

The students have embraced Mrs Breckenridge with characteristic openness and enthusiasm. As one student, Zahli, put it: “She was so kind to me in my first week at Pittwater House – even though it was her first week too.”

We thank Mrs Amy Tickle for her excellent work as the Acting Head of Junior School and look forward to the next chapter in our Junior School’s journey under Mrs Breckenridge’s guidance.

We are proud to welcome her as part of the Pittwater House family.
