Film School
Mitchell Anderson (Year 12) was recently accepted into the Sydney International Film School. Mitchell submitted a video made in his HSC Drama classes as his application and is overjoyed to have been invited to study there next year.
ICAS-UNSW Mathematics Competition
In August some of our most talented Mathematicians participated in the annual ICAS-UNSW Mathematics Competition. This prestigious competition is open to Mathematicians across Australia and beyond, and tests the students' logic and problem solving skills.
While all students who participated should be commended for their efforts, Pittwater House is happy to announce that the following fourteen students excelled in the competition and were awarded Distinctions:
Year 10 - Liam Pederson, Matthew Julian, Mitchel Howe, Craig Feeney and Lewis Beard;
Year 9 - Andrew Mahn;
Year 8 - Gianni Stensness, Yash Sogy, Mitchell Scott and Eliza Molen-Grigull
Year 7 - Jack Taylor, Camryn Scott, Selina Lu and Charles Langoulant.
Chess Competition
Six of our Year 7 boys represented the Pittwater House Chess Club in the Macquarie University Schools Chess Challenge in Term 3. Harry Stankovic, Elliot Milijasevic, Oliver Rees, Aidan Murphy, Dexter Anderson and William Bretthauer competed against much older opposition and fared extremely well. Pittwater House won 12-1/2 points which was a major achievement for the team, congratulations and we look forward to more great results.
Australian Music Examination Board
Max Irish (Year 11) passed the final Grade 8 AMEB tenor saxophone exam with A Honours. Max commenced his AMEB saxophone exams at age 8; this is a significant milestone for Max and one which we celebrate with him.
